Steamed Salmon

I have been craving steamed fish lately and finally, made the dish after work today. It’s simple to put together (if you have all the ingredients) and is so delicious that I ate a huge plate of rice with it. 😋

3 medium-size salmon fillets
Broccoli florets, however much you like and can fit on the plate
5 thinly sliced ginger (from a big chunk), julienned
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
3-4 Thai red chilies, thinly sliced
1/2 (3.5 oz) package salted, spicy shredded radish (freeze the other half for next time)
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
2 tablespoons water

Place salmon fillets in a shallow, heatproof dish. Arrange broccoli around the fillets. In a small bowl, combine ginger, garlic, chilies, shredded radish, light soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and water. Then, pour mixture on top of the fish. We steamed this dish in a countertop steamer/air fryer oven for 15 minutes using the “steam medium” function. If steaming on the stovetop, steam fish on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes after you bring the steamer water to a boil. If fish is on the thinner side, check sooner to make sure it doesn’t get overcooked. Serve immediately with rice. Enjoy!
