My First Glasses

Do you remember back in those teenage years when you felt that your friends were your life, and you wanted to do whatever they did and have whatever they had? And when your parents asked you, “If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?”, you refrained from answering because you knew that the answer you were going to give was not the answer they hoped to hear. LOL

Well, when I was in high school, I wanted to wear glasses really badly (just because most of my friends wore them and I thought it was cool). *grin* I would do stupid things like trying to read in the dark or watching tv with my face literally plastered to it (when my parents weren’t looking) with the hope that I would ruin my eyes. Of course, that never happened. The reason why I remember all these things is because about a month ago, I had my eyes checked and found out that I actually need glasses…at the point in my life when I really, really have no desire to wear them. So there I was crying to Keith, “But…but…I don’t want to wear glasses. Why can’t my eyes stay just the way they were?” Life. Isn’t it ironic somedays most days? Happy Tuesday! Monday is over. Yay!
