I was just lamenting yesterday evening that none of the variety of trees on our property changes color to orange or red (they all turn to yellow) when our Japanese Maple caught my eye. How could I have forgotten my favorite tree? It is certainly eye-catching with its gorgeous, bright red leaves. Love it!
Cream Cheese Danish
Another delicious buy from Costco! Note to self – Do not go to Costco when hungry!
Fall is Going, Going, Gone
It has been raining for days and most of the beautiful leaves are down! Will we ever see the sun again and not just for five seconds in between days of rain?
Peonies in Full Bloom
Our peonies are in full bloom right now in our front yard – extremely short-lived but so beautiful right this moment. 💗
Playing Badminton
Badminton is one of the top sports in Asia but not so much here. Alex has really taken to badminton starting last summer but unfortunately, it’s not an activity we can partake throughout the year since there aren’t any indoor badminton courts here. So as soon as the weather allows and seasonal allergies have finally […]
Is Spring Finally Here to Stay?
It’s finally looking and feeling like spring! We have five different daffodils blooming in the garden right now. While tulips will always be my first love for spring blooming plants (and apparently, they are the deers’ first love as well), daffodils will never fail to bring a smile to my face with their bright, sunny appearance. […]

My sis and her family made a quick trip out here to see us over the Easter weekend. We had a great time catching up and eating, of course. :) According to my sis, everything we made when they visited was so delicious, lol. Although we didn’t really do anything special, we definitely appreciate the […]
Happy Anniversary!
So I just arrived home and I stopped at the mailbox to retrieve our mail. I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice golden envelope among the other junk mail. My first instinct was that it’s from my mother-in-law and sure enough, I was right. She usually makes an effort to send out actual cards […]
Happy Chinese New Year
I reminded Alex that it’s Chinese New Year (CNY) tomorrow and he’s pretty excited because that means he’ll be getting an ang pau (a red envelope filled with money) from us. I asked him if he remembers what saying we can use to greet someone during CNY. He replied, “Happy New Year?” Lol. I responded […]
