Turmeric Fried Chicken

In addition to the basic accompaniments, I decided to make fried chicken as well to go with the nasi lemak. So simple but yet so delicious!

About 4-1/2 pounds chicken legs/drumsticks*
2-1/2 teaspoons (regular table) salt
3-1/2 teaspoons turmeric powder
Peanut oil or other oil for deep-frying

*You can use whichever chicken parts you prefer. I had originally wanted to make fried wings but the drumsticks were on sale for $1.49 per pound versus $3.79 for wings! That decided it for me!

Season the chicken with salt and turmeric powder. Fry in hot oil until dark golden brown and cooked through.

  1. Saya suka makan ayam goreng!

(Wow, spell checker didn’t like that at all!)

Anyway, your ayam goreng looks delicious.
